And that’s why we are looking for a Product Development Specialist with a expertise in Chemistry.

YOUR CHALLENGE:

Lead the design, development and execution of first-to-market and/or nutritionally & sensorially superior products in the market.
Drive the formulation design of new plant based products through in-depth chemistry scientific knowledge.
Function as chemistry expert and advisor within the Product Development team for key formulation criteria such as flavoring and color system design, ingredient interactions, stability and shelf life.
Manage R&D; projects from initial prototyping through to implementation in the market in collaboration with PMO and Marketing team. This involves:

1. Conduct technical feasibility studies from existing technologies and/or in-house developed technologies for product design

2. Define DOE and carry out bench scale experiments

3. Lead pilot plant trials and industrial trials.

4. Create and maintain specifications

5. Define and conduct stability and shelf life tests

6. Communicate progress against the project plan

7. Leverage internal expertise (Science & Technology Team) and external networks when needed

Translate insights into technical briefs in partnership with marketing and sales teams, based on solid consumer foundation and customer needs.





Actively contribute to the product pipeline development via in-depth scientific understanding of ingredients functionality and technologies.

Coach and develop junior R&D; Team members

Represent R&D; in cross-functional Project meetings and ensure that all project work is within the governance of our internal system

Complete proper Knowledge Management throughout the project lifecycle and maintain all documents and records for IP protection

YOU WILL FEEL COMFORTABLE, ENJOY AND DO GREAT AT THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE:

A Caring attitude towards our mission and see it as a “personal” problem to be solved professionally

A Bachelor Degree or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related scientific discipline with a strong fundamental Chemistry background e.g. analytical chemistry, polymer chemistry, organic chemistry

5+ years experience working in Food Product Development or Technology development with diverse industry experience, ideally in the field of plant based, increasing responsibilities and complexity

Experience working with external manufacturers and partners is a benefit

Fluency in English and Spanish is a must

Ability to thrive in a diverse, dynamic team

Self-starter that is naturally curious and enjoys working in a fast paced environment

Ability to continuously challenge assumptions to seek innovative solutions. Results oriented

Developer of people; builds team spirit; faces difficult situations with tenacity and calm

Excellent project management and coaching skills

Good strategic skills; good analytically – can see underlining or hidden problems and patterns

Excellent communication skills, written and oral. Strong influencing skills.
