Purpose of the role
Zego Insurance Limited (ZIL) is the Group's regulated insurance carrier, based in Gibraltar and supervised by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (GFSC). As Interim Head of Finance, you are the ultimate owner of ZIL's financial health, accuracy and operational integrity. Because ZIL underwrites risk on its own balance sheet, the role demands deep, specialised expertise in insurance carrier accounting and technical reserves, not broker or agency finance. This is a hands-on player-coach role. You'll run a lean finance function with one direct report while working in lockstep with the Actuarial team and Group Finance. You'll own the end-to-end financial accounting cycle, ensure strict adherence to Gibraltar and insurance regulatory standards, and design and enforce robust financial controls.
