About the Role
At SOTEC Consulting – Astek Group, we are looking for a Verification & Validation Engineer (Rail Networks & Cybersecurity) to join an international railway project.
The selected candidate will become part of the Verification & Validation Department, contributing to the validation of onboard communication systems and network architectures. The role focuses on ensuring that railway communication systems comply with security requirements, interoperability standards, and applicable regulations, while validating communication architectures from a cybersecurity perspective.
High level of English required (international project)
- Preparation and review of verification and validation strategies.
- Definition of test plans related to railway networks and communications.
- Cybersecurity risk analysis.
- Validation of onboard communication architectures.
- Technical review of security requirements.
- Evaluation of communications:
- Internal train communications.
- Train-to-ground communications.
- Associated cloud systems.




- Coordination with systems engineering and development teams.
- Review of compliance with applicable regulations.
- Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5–6 years of experience.
- Mandatory experience in the railway sector.
- Mandatory experience in railway networks and railway cybersecurity.
- Availability for national and international travel.
- Verification & Validation (V&V;).
- Railway communication networks.
- Railway cybersecurity.
- Systems architecture.
- Cybersecurity applied to railway or other complex environments.

Knowledge of:
- Onboard communications.
- Train-to-ground communications.
- Cloud integrations.
- Cybersecurity principles.
- Pentesting concepts applied to validation.
- Validation of security requirements from the design stage.
