Position Summary

The department seeks qualified candidates to teach undergraduate courses in Geomatics Engineering, including but not limited to the following courses:
- GME 15: Engineering Surveying (3 units, 3 WTU)
- GME 15L: Engineering Surveying Laboratory (1 unit, 2 WTU)
- GME 16: Municipal Surveying (3 units, 3 WTU)
- GME 16L: Municipal Surveying Laboratory (1 unit, 2 WTU)
- GME 40/40L: Route Construction and Surveying
- GME 66L: Computer‑Aided Drafting (1 unit, 2 WTU)
- GME 102: Remote Sensing (3 units, 3 WTU)
- GME 123: Stereo Photogrammetry (3 units, 4 WTU)
- GME 126: Digital Mapping (3 units, 4 WTU)
- GME 159: Subdivision Design (3 units, 3 WTU)
- Other courses as needed to fulfill students’ educational goals

Instructor Responsibilities

Temporary faculty members must adhere to university and system‑wide policies as directed in Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2. Responsibilities include preparation, delivery, proctoring, and grading of lectures, office hours, homework, quizzes, projects, and exams.



All classes must be offered as scheduled throughout the semester in the assigned mode (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).

Conditional Appointment

Appointments are contingent upon budget and enrollment considerations and are subject to the collective bargaining agreement with the California Faculty Association. Faculty are assigned courses based on the “Order of Work,” beginning with tenure‑track faculty and ending with new lecturer appointees.

Compensation

Pay is commensurate with qualifications and experience within the CSU salary schedule (Class Code 2358). For a master's degree holder and full‑time (15 WTUs), the range is $5,507–$6,677 per month. Salaries are adjusted based on the number of WTUs assigned.

Anticipated Semester

The temporary faculty pool is continuously open and is filled as needed. Positions vary each semester and are temporary, often made just before the term.
