Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) is a public sector institution that promotes and develops biomedical research, innovation and teaching at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital, one of the largest hospital campuses in Europe. The I2P2-RG (Infections and Immunodeficiencies in Paediatric Patients Research Group) conducts research and implementation projects focused on child health, immunodeficiencies, infectious diseases and health systems strengthening, both in high and low- and middle-income countries. The group collaborates with international partners and healthcare institutions to generate evidence and improve clinical care for vulnerable populations.

The I2P2-RG is seeking a Data Scientist to support research activities through data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques applied to the biomedical and clinical environment.

Main responsibilities and duties
- To identify and integrate available data sources to support clinical and translational research activities.
- To perform data analyses and interpret results to contribute to the group's research projects.




- To support data management and data quality processes within the research group
- To collaborate in the development and validation of AI-based tools within the Vall d’Hebron AI working group.

Education and qualifications

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering or related fields.

Desirable:
- Master's degree in Data Science, Data Analytics or related fields.
- Fluency in Catalan and Spanish

Experience and knowledge

Desirable:
- Proficiency in Python and/or R for data analysis and statistical computing.
- Knowledge of SQL and database management.
- Experience in data analysis, preferably in a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of data governance principles and European health data spaces (EHDS).

Labour conditions
- Working hours: Full-time (37,5 hours per week).
- Starting date: As soon as possible.
- Gross annual salary: 35
