As an Assistant Breeder, you play a vital role in transforming breeding concepts into real-world results. Your work ensures that our crops meet the highest standards of quality, health, and market relevance. By combining hands‑on crop care with precise data collection,
you help drive innovation and support Enza Zaden’s mission to feed the world sustainably. Next to that, you'll be responsible for:
- Provide timely and accurate support in all steps of the breeding process to make the right (selection) decisions.
- Secure implementation and oversee execution of routine processes, i.e. sowing, planting, pollinating harvesting, and disease testing.
- Ensure proper execution of crossing programs, functionally leading Crop Workers, and monitoring process whilst ensuring that the instructions of the (Assistant) Breeder are followed.
- Make independent observation, taking routine phenotypic data from Breeding material and first screenings.
- Assist with the selection of crops based on clear instructions and in alignment with the (Senior) Breeder.
- Recording and processing of observations on plants in designated electronic systems.
- Correct administration when sending/receiving plants, ensuring traceability.
