Selection Process

In May 2018, EURAXESS awarded the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya with a Human Resources Excellence in Research Award, which ensures that candidates are selected purely on the basis of excellence criteria. The UIC Barcelona selection process involves:
- An independent board of experts that assesses all applications and decides who will move on to the next stage. All members of this board are from outside UIC Barcelona.
- A public oral defense by finalist applicants: a presentation about their career (both academic and teaching) and their research projects.
- Following the presentation, the examination panel will ask a series of questions to conclude the defense. The defense should last a total of 60 minutes.

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a Post‑Doctoral Assistant Lecturer to teach and carry out research in the area of accounting and/or finance. The successful applicant is expected to contribute to the teaching and development of our existing accounting and financial management modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level,



and to engage in individual and collaborative research activities resulting in high‑quality and internationally‑rated output in accounting and finance journals. The applicant must have a proven track record of effective teaching in English and Spanish.
- Potential teaching subjects:
- Cost Accounting
- Management Accounting
- Financial Management
- Must have:
- A PhD in a discipline field related to the position (accounting, finance or economics)
- A postdoctoral experience, preferably in areas related to the research groups of the faculty.

We recommend a minimum of 350 hours of teaching experience with good results in terms of student satisfaction.

Assessment Criteria
