The opportunity Hitachi Energy is seeking a General SCM Material Sustainability Lead for the Business Unit Transformers to join our innovative and forward-thinking team. In this role, you will lead the end-to-end management of the Material Sustainability pillar, aligning methodologies for environmental impact assessments, defining processes, implementing initiatives, and monitoring progress across the business unit. How You Will Make An Impact Drive the BU supply chain sustainability strategy, focusing on material sustainability and business alignment.
Monitor sustainability trends, regulations, and customer requirements, integrating them into plans and processes.
Standardize material sustainability processes and ensure effective implementation across the supply chain.
Lead sustainability improvement initiatives, including decarbonization and supplier engagement.




Track sustainability performance and drive continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
Develop and maintain material sustainability data, enabling consistent LCA, EPD, and PCF assessments.
Partner with suppliers and stakeholders to advance emission reduction and sustainable practices.
Deliver training and promote best practices across the SCM community.
Align and apply methodologies for assessing material environmental impacts in line with evolving standards.
Support supplier requirements, material selection, environmental claims, and customer sustainability requests.
Your background Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management with focus on sustainability, with proven leadership in strategy and roadmap creation, preferably within global or large-scale organizations.
