Temporary Faculty Pool - Lecturer in Viticulture
Location: Fresno.
Job Type: Instructional Faculty – Temporary/Lecturer, Part Time (Unit 3 – CFA – California Faculty Association).
Position Summary
The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach undergraduate courses such as:
- Introductory Viticulture
- General Viticulture
- Grape Pest and Disease Management
- Table Grape and Raisin Production
- Organic Viticulture
- Digital Viticulture
- Other classes that may be identified as needed

Instructor Responsibilities
- Adhere to and implement university and system-wide policies per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.
- Prepare, deliver, conduct, proctor, and grade lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm/final exams.
- Ensure all classes are offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester in the mode assigned (asynchronous, synchronous, in‑person, or hybrid).

Conditional Appointment




Appointment contingent on budget and enrollment considerations and subject to the order of assignment provisions in the collective bargaining agreement between CSU and the California Faculty Association. Acknowledges the “Order of Work.”
Appointees must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. No work‑visa sponsorship.
Compensation
Commensurate with qualifications and experience within salary range placement. Salary ranges are established by the CSU Salary Schedule (Class Code 2358 for Academic Year Lecturers). For Temporary Faculty with a Master’s degree: $5,507–$6,677 per month when teaching full time (15 WTUs). Starting salaries usually at or near the minimum of the range. Presente monthly salary adjusted based on WTUs assigned per term.
Anticipated Semester
The temporary faculty pool is continuously open; positions are filled as needed based on student enrollment and funding. The number of positions varies each semester. Appointments often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants may need to
