You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (Auxiliaries Engineering Technician) in the Hull and Auxiliaries Division of the Engineering Department of FWD DEPLOYED REG MAINT CTR DET ROTA, SPAIN.
Duties
- You will provide industrial, engineering, and technical and contractor oversight for the maintenance and modernization of Naval ships and craft.
- You will provide technical assistance for urgent mission-degrading Casualty Reports (CASREP) or similar problems affecting assigned equipment, beyond reach of supervisory assistance/guidance.
- You will perform the functional checkout, grooming, adjustment, and test of repaired, new, or modernized shipboard systems in a systems qualifications test environment, in which you will have the responsibility for operation of a major subsystem.
- You will be responsible for familiarizing organizational level maintenance personnel in troubleshooting techniques and maintenance policies procedures.
- You will provide authoritative technical engineering guidance to Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA)
activities and port engineers in resolution of repair/overhaul or test/grooming problems beyond their level of in-house engineering expertise.
- You will serve as team leader of organized teams composed of not fewer than five (5) General Schedule technicians (or contractor equivalent).
- You will perform special engineering analyses and studies in support of Naval Sea Systems Command NAVSEA or In-Service Engineering Agents (ISEA) for the purpose of developing or evaluating improvements in design, maintenance procedures, material.
