TheNanobioengineering Group is seeking for a Laboratory Technician to support an ongoing European Pathfinder project to develop electrochemical ion selective sensors (ISE). We are looking for an exceptional candidate with experience in biosensors for biomedical applications, particularly electrochemical ISE.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

- Plan and conduct tests to optimize biosensors.
- Optimize the integration of a polyvinyl chloride-based potassium sensor and a pyrrole-based pH sensor.
- Perform characterization using electrochemical techniques, such as cyclic voltammetry and potentiometry.
- Undertake a short, fully funded stay in Italy to integrate our sensor with microarrays.
- Prepare experimental reports, protocols, contribute to scientific publications and present findings at internal and external meetings.
- Participate in weekly lab meetings

Requirements for candidates:

- Scientific background in a relevant field (e.g., electrochemistry (CV, potentiometry), biosensors, ISEs)
- Knowledge of surface characterization techniques, such as surface plasmon resonance, contact angle, and profilometry, will be valued.
- Having a doctorate does not disqualify the candidate; rather, it is an asset.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and manage time effectively
- High level of English and excellent written communication skills in English.
