We are part of Rakuten Group, one of the world's leading internet services companies.We are looking for a Junior AI Engineer to join our AI team and work directly with our AI Lead.

You will contribute to the design, development, and deployment of AI-powered solutions across content discovery, personalization,



and operational workflows.This role is AI-first: you're expected to use AI tools in your daily work to speed up delivery while maintaining engineering rigor, traceability, and quality.
Responsibilities
* Partner with the AI Lead to identify high-impact technical problems, translate them into concrete AI solutions and deliver them.
* AI Engineering: Build end-to-end AI workflows: data → model/agent logic → evaluation → deployable prototype.
* Apply engineering best practices with rigor: reason about model behavior/limitations, design evaluation pipelines (golden datasets, regression tests, human-in-the-loop review).
* Integrate prototypes into real systems via APIs and services, ensuring observability (latency, cost, quality).
* Communication: Produce clear demos and documentation; communicate results, tradeoffs, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders .
