About the Position
Our client is a leading international seed company committed to developing innovative vegetable varieties for general markets.
We are looking for a Pepper Breeder to join its breeding programme in Almería, Spain. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of commercial breeding activities, collaborate with international R&D; teams, and contribute to the development of the next generation of successful pepper varieties.
Your Main Responsibilities

- Lead and develop commercial pepper breeding programmes.
- Design and implement breeding strategies using modern breeding techniques.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams across Breeding, Research and Product Development.
- Evaluate breeding material and support the successful development and launch of new varieties.
- Drive the continuous improvement of breeding methodologies and processes.
- Contribute to innovation within an international R&D; environment.
Key Requirements

- Experience in vegetable breeding; experience with pepper is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong scientific background combined with a practical, hands-on approach to field work.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
- Ability to analyse data, make informed decisions and solve complex challenges.
- Passion for plant breeding, genetics and agricultural innovation.
- Willingness to work in a collaborative, international environment.
