Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and optimization of vacuum thin‑film deposition systems in a cleanroom production environment. The role focuses on a PLASSYS electron beam evaporation system equipped with a Ferrotec e‑beam source, as well as argon ion milling and RF plasma in‑situ cleaning systems. Responsibilities

- Operate and monitor vacuum deposition equipment to ensure process stability and repeatability
- Perform calibration procedures and track key process parameters
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on vacuum and deposition systems
- Service and maintain core system components as needed
- Ensure the integrity of vacuum, gas, and plasma systems
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to vacuum, beam, and deposition processes
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, calibration records, and technical documentation
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and external technical support
- Support instrumentation and hardware activities within the lab environment
Qualifications

- Technical diploma or degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience with vacuum‑based equipment
- Solid understanding of vacuum systems and high‑voltage equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and hands‑on technical skills
- Ability to work independently and follow structured procedures
- Experience with electron beam evaporation, ion milling, or plasma systems
- Experience in cleanroom or semiconductor environments
- Knowledge of electromechanics or background as an electromechanical technician
- Familiarity with deposition monitoring tools (e.g., QCM)
