Reporting to the Head of Travel Underwriting for European Hub, you will be responsible for leading portfolio remediation efforts across the integral travel insurance book, with an immediate focus on the United Kingdom. This role drives technical underwriting excellence through deep-dive performance analysis at both client and portfolio level, identifying root causes of deterioration and implementing corrective action to ensure rate adequacy and sustainability. The role partners closely with Pricing, Actuarial, Claims, and Distribution to execute targeted remediation strategies aligned with the Travel Line of Business strategy. Ensures all underwriting actions are technically sound, commercially relevant, and fully compliant with Allianz and AzP standards.
Responsibilities

Lead and drive remediation efforts across global travel portfolios, with an initial and primary focus on the United Kingdom market.
Conduct deep-dive analysis on individual client and portfolio performance to identify specific causes of deterioration, including rate inadequacy, rating factor drift,



and shifts in risk mix.
Collaborate closely with the Pricing team to ensure tariff and non-tariff books are performing in line with expectations; recommend and implement targeted adjustments where deviations are observed.
Work hand-in-hand with the Portfolio Monitoring and Actuarial teams to identify underperforming segments, define remediation plans, and provide accurate performance data into central portfolio tools.
Ensure underwriting actions are aligned with Allianz standards and AzP Underwriting Guidelines, with a strong focus on technical soundness and commercial impact.
Support the annual planning process through robust commercial margin analysis, forecasting outcomes of remedial actions, and highlighting residual risks.
Maintain transparency on all portfolio changes and initiatives to support reserve adequacy and proper technical provisioning.
