In this role you will provide independent 2LOD risk assurance over Monzo Europe’s risk framework and controls, ensuring regulatory and internal standards are met. You will design and execute assurance reviews across conduct, financial crime, IT, and other risk areas, with a focus on effectiveness and root-cause analysis. You’ll collaborate with 1LOD, Group 2LOD, and Internal Audit to strengthen the control environment. This position supports growth that is safe, resilient, and compliant, while shaping risk culture and governance. A strong hook is the mandate to oversee EU-wide risk assurance within a rapidly expanding fintech in Madrid.

• Plan, coordinate and execute risk assurance activities across the enterprise risk framework
• Conduct thematic reviews in risk areas like conduct, compliance, financial crime, IT, prudential and strategic risk
• Identify gaps and remediation actions,

• Engage with business and risk stakeholders to understand risk profiles and promote risk culture
• Contribute to annual risk assurance plan using regulatory trends and horizon scanning
• Support continuous improvement of the 2LOD Risk Assurance Framework, Methodology and TOR
• Collaborate with 1LOD, Group 2LOD and Internal Audit to maintain independent challenge
• Report insights, trends and remediation progress to senior management committees
• Promote risk culture through training and awareness initiatives

Responsabilidades
• Background in risk assurance, internal audit or risk management within banking or fintech in Europe
• Ability to plan and execute diverse assurance activities, including root-cause analysis
• Led reviews across ICT and Information Security, Financial/Prudential, Fraud and Financial Crime, Operational and Conduct Risk
