The Opportunity
At Hitachi Energy, we are building and expanding our ES Regional Office (ESOPC) in Madrid, Spain, within the Grid & Power Quality Solutions business in Europe (HBUEU).To strengthen our team, we are looking for an experienced Senior System Engineer with strong background in power electronics, power systems and system simulations.

At our competence center “Power Converter Solutions”,



we have a leading position in the development, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of high-power electronic converters mainly for STATCOM and rail power supply systems.

We also provide solutions for hydro pump stations and grid interties.

With the help of our highly efficient converters, we contribute to the integration of renewable energies into the electrical grid of tomorrow, while also increasing the overall system efficiency.
How you’ll make an impact
* Design power electronic converter systems including Static Frequency Converters (SFC), Static Compensators (STATCOMs), etc., from sales and tendering phase to project execution, including occasional customer and site visits
* Own the system engineering scope throughout project execution, in close collaboration with Sales, other Engineering departments, Project Management, and Service
* Perform system design tasks such as simulations (e.g., harmonics,
