As a System of Systems (SoS) Concepts Architect
Define, develop and evolve advanced SoS architectures for complex defence systems, shaping the future of integrated capabilities at Airbus Defence and Space SAU, ensuring strategic alignment and technical coherence of diverse systems.
Key Responsibilities
Architectural Design & Conceptualization: Design and analysis of complex SoS architectures, addressing multi-domain challenges to define how future air power-enabled systems interact and operate.
Advanced Modeling & MBSE: Support the development and refinement of SoS architectural frameworks and methodologies using MBSE to create rigorous models that allow us to understand and harness the emergent behaviors of complex, non-managed systems.
Strategic Roadmapping: Contribute to the development of SoS roadmaps and technology strategies, identifying and curating key solution roadmaps to guide long-term SoS evolution.
Driving Reusability: Tackle the Architecture of Reuse challenge by designing scalable, reusable frameworks rather than one-off builds, maximizing portfolio value.
Analysis & Integration: Conduct trade‑off analyses, feasibility studies, and impact assessments. Define interfaces, protocols, and integration strategies for heterogeneous systems to ensure seamless interoperability and data exchange.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate architectural risks, proactively addressing potential issues related to performance, scalability, security, and resilience.
Qualifications & Skills
Master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or a closely related technical field.
Minimum of five years of experience in systems engineering or architecture, desirably including training and hands‑on experience in SoS or complex enterprise‑level architectures.
Prior knowledge in architectural frameworks (for example the UAF, DoDAF, MODAF) and modeling languages (for example SysML, UML), with hands‑on experience using tools such as
