As Tax Specialist in Madrid, you will guide tax strategy and compliance across Spain and Portugal to support Hitachi Energy’s sustainable growth. You will partner with cross-functional teams to integrate tax considerations into business decisions and transformation initiatives. The role focuses on transactional tax management, risk monitoring, and process automation to enable compliant, data-driven operations. This is a high-impact position at a global energy leader asking you to drive efficiency and governance in a multi-country setting.

Compensaciones / Incentivos
• Own specified areas of transactional tax and deliver high-quality work independently
• Prepare and submit tax declarations (WHT, CIT, VAT, deferred taxes) and ensure timely filings
• Leverage tax certification to accuracy in tax returns and compliance
• Drive automation of VAT, WHT, and CIT processes using AI tools and real-time S/4HANA data
• Monitor compliance, identify anomalies, and track tax risks via data-driven dashboards
• Contribute to indirect tax compliance process improvements for Spain and Portugal
• Meet all tax deadlines with accurate, reliable activities




• Manage and triage the tax mailbox and coordinate with stakeholders
• Support tax payment processes and reconcile tax accounts
• Assist in tax audits with collaboration from internal and external stakeholders

Responsabilidades
• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Law or similar with focus on taxation or compliance
• 5 years of operational tax experience including preparation of Spanish tax declarations
• Knowledge of tax regulations and ability to interpret local and international tax frameworks
• Experience with SAP (FI/CO, S/4HANA) and tax tools such as Vertex, SAP Document Compliance or HELT; advanced Excel for data analysis
• Highly organized, detail-oriented with strong coordination skills and ability to work independently under deadlines
• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese, and English; TOC/OCC certification a plus; basic accounting knowledge a plus
