To support this mission, Syngenta's Vegetables R&D; team is seeking a Field Trials Scientist – Solanaceae Crops in Almería, Spain.
This role will support the delivery of late-stage product advancement across our solanaceae vegetable portfolio – primarily pepper and tomato – by leading the end-to-end design, execution, and analysis of field trials, and translating high-quality agronomic data into strategic variety placement recommendations.
Accountabilities

- Design and manage the full trialing cycle – from annual trial planning and seed sowing coordination with internal operations teams to field setup, data collection, and final analysis – ensuring every trial meets Syngenta's quality and scientific standards.
- Coordinate off-station trials with growers, including contract negotiation, identifying and onboarding new trial locations, and ensuring farmers carry out trial activities as agreed, in close collaboration with the commercial team.
- Verify and interpret trial data quality using internal digital tools, ensuring datasets are accurate, representative, and captured in systems on time.
