Impact Investing Lead

Strategy, Client Success & Product About Mútua Mútua is building an intelligence platform for impact capital allocation.

Our platform helps asset managers, foundations, family offices, development institutions, and other impact capital allocators make more informed, transparent, and defensible decisions. We transform fragmented impact data, research, and ecosystem knowledge into decision-grade intelligence that supports strategy development, opportunity assessment, portfolio construction, and capital deployment.

By combining AI, structured data, and collective intelligence, Mútua helps decision-makers navigate complex social and environmental systems across areas such as food and land use, energy, education, healthcare, and climate.

Our ambition is to become core intelligence infrastructure for the impact ecosystem: improving how capital is informed, allocated, and coordinated toward a regenerative and equitable economy.

Mútua is gaining early traction, is backed by investors helping shape the future of impact investing, and is assembling a globally distributed, mission-driven team.

The Role

We are looking for an Impact Investing Manager to take on a distinctive strategic role at the intersection of impact investing, client success, product development, and operations.

This role is designed for a rising talent with direct experience in impact capital allocation decisions—whether within an asset manager, foundation, family office, development institution, advisory firm, or related organization—who wants to help build a new category of intelligence platform for the sector.

You will lead Mútua’s Custom Impact Strategy offering, working directly with clients to develop defensible, evidence-backed strategies for allocating impact capital. Initially, this work will be delivered through high-value client projects. Over time, you will help translate recurring client needs, analytical frameworks, and workflows into scalable product capabilities.

You will also act as a bridge between clients and Mútua’s product team, ensuring that our platform is grounded in real allocation decisions and solves the most consequential problems faced by impact investors.

This is a cross-functional and hands-on role with significant exposure to company strategy. It is well suited to someone who combines investment judgment, structured problem-solving, client leadership, and a strong interest in building products and systems.

Key Responsibilities Lead Custom Impact Strategy engagements

Lead client projects focused on impact strategy, capital allocation, thematic prioritization, market and ecosystem analysis, investment frameworks, and portfolio design.

Help clients translate broad impact ambitions into clear, actionable, and evidence-backed allocation strategies.

Structure complex questions, synthesize quantitative and qualitative evidence, and develop defensible recommendations.

Facilitate strategic discussions with investment teams, foundations, family offices, and other senior stakeholders.

Ensure that all client deliverables meet high standards of analytical rigor, clarity, and practical relevance. Build the Custom Impact Strategy offering

Develop the methodologies, analytical frameworks, processes, and delivery standards underlying the offering.

Identify repeatable elements across projects and convert bespoke work into scalable tools, datasets, workflows, and product features.

Help transition the offering from a primarily project-based model toward a technology-enabled and productized service.

Work with leadership to define positioning, scope, pricing, and the long-term commercial model for the offering.

Contribute to proposals, scoping, and the development of new client relationships. Own the client success perspective

Build trusted relationships with clients and understand the institutional context behind their decisions.

Support clients from initial problem definition through implementation and ongoing platform adoption.

Define success criteria for each engagement and ensure that Mútua’s work contributes to concrete decisions and outcomes.

Identify risks, unmet needs, expansion opportunities, and barriers to adoption.

Develop client success practices appropriate for an early-stage, high-touch business. Represent clients and users in product development

Serve as the voice of impact capital allocators within Mútua’s product team.

Translate client problems and investment workflows into clear product requirements and priorities.

Work closely with product, data, design, and engineering teams to test assumptions and validate new capabilities.

Participate in user research, prototype testing, and product discovery.

Ensure that product development reflects the standards of rigor, transparency, explainability, and usability required for capital allocation decisions.

Help determine which client-specific capabilities should become part of Mútua’s core platform. Lead delivery operations

Manage and develop an Operations Associate supporting research, analysis, project coordination, data structuring, and client delivery.

Establish effective project management and quality-control processes.

Coordinate work across internal teams and external contributors.

Improve the efficiency, consistency, and scalability of client engagements.

Maintain a high standard of execution in a fast-moving early-stage environment.

What We Are Looking For Relevant experience in impact investing, sustainable finance, philanthropy, development finance, investment advisory, strategy consulting, or a related field.

Direct exposure to capital allocation decisions, investment strategy, manager or opportunity assessment, portfolio construction, or funding strategy.

Strong understanding of how impact investors and other capital allocators evaluate themes, markets, organizations, opportunities, risks, and evidence.

Ability to structure ambiguous problems and turn complex information into clear decisions and recommendations.

Strong analytical, research, and written communication skills.

Experience working directly with clients or senior institutional stakeholders.

Ability to manage projects from initial scoping through delivery.

Interest in the intersection of impact investing, data, AI, and software products.

Ability to operate across strategy and execution without relying on established processes or large teams.

Professional fluency in English.

Highly Valued

Experience developing impact investment theses, theories of change, impact frameworks, or thematic allocation strategies, especially using frontier systems-oriented or blended capital approaches

Experience within an asset manager, foundation, family office, development finance institution, impact advisory firm, or investment consultancy.

Familiarity with impact measurement and management, systems thinking, market mapping, or evidence assessment.

Experience translating advisory services or institutional workflows into software products.

Product management, user research, or client success experience.

Experience managing analysts, associates, researchers, or project teams.

Early-stage startup, entrepreneurial, or zero-to-one operating experience.

Knowledge of one or more impact sectors, such as climate, food and land use, education, healthcare, financial inclusion, or economic development.

The Profile That May

Thrive in This Role You may currently be working in impact investing, consulting, philanthropy, development finance, or a related field and have developed strong judgment about how impact capital allocation decisions are made. You are familiarized with frontier impact investing methologies like blended finance, outcome-linked and systemic investing.

You are ready to move beyond executing within an established institution and want to help design the intelligence, processes, and products that could improve decision-making across the broader market.

You are comfortable advising clients, interrogating evidence, coordinating execution, and working with product and technical teams. You do not need to be a software engineer, but you should be motivated to translate investment expertise into scalable technology.

This is not a traditional investment role focused on managing a single fund or executing transactions. It is a platform-building role focused on improving the quality of impact capital allocation across institutions.
