Devon started Real. in early 2026 after years of watching social media flatten into performance, and noticing the most honest places online were the ones where nobody knew who anyone was. He has built the product, brand, business plan, and capital strategy to date; a technical co-founder search is active for engineering leadership through the December 2026 launch. founding story how it began. A few years ago I noticed the people in my life were exhausted.

Not by their jobs, by their feeds: the performance, the edited reel of someone else's life landing in their pocket every few minutes. When something actually hard happened, they didn't post about it. They texted one person, or no one.

The honest places online still existed.

They were just smaller: a Reddit thread at 2am, a specific Discord, an anonymous app nobody's parents had heard of. The anonymity wasn't a bug. It was the whole feature. I started building Real. so those rooms could feel intentional instead of accidental.
