As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced Planner to join our team and support the successful delivery of complex construction projects. The Planner is responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring detailed project programmes throughout the full project lifecycle.
Working closely with the Project Manager, Construction Manager, Package Managers, subcontractors and the wider project team, the Planner ensures that design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning activities are effectively planned, monitored and coordinated to achieve project milestones and contractual completion dates.
This role requires strong expertise in Primavera P6, advanced analytical skills and excellent knowledge of construction sequencing and project controls. Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and update integrated project programmes using Primavera P6.
Prepare baseline programmes aligned with contractual requirements and project execution strategies.
Develop construction, procurement and commissioning schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
Monitor project progress against the approved baseline programme.
Identify critical path activities, programme risks,
delays and opportunities for recovery.
Develop mitigation strategies and recovery programmes where required.
Produce detailed look-ahead programmes to support short-term construction planning.
Coordinate planning activities with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Design Teams, Package Managers and subcontractors.
Review subcontractor programmes and ensure alignment with the overall master programme.
Monitor procurement activities, long-lead items and key project milestones.
Coordinate programme interfaces across CSA, Electrical, Mechanical and Commissioning packages.
Support construction sequencing reviews and programme optimisation.
Participate in planning workshops, progress meetings and coordination meetings.
Prepare weekly and monthly programme updates.
Produce planning reports, schedule narratives, dashboards and KPI reports for both internal and client reporting.
Analyse programme performance using schedule metrics, progress data and productivity trends.
Support delay analysis, programme impact assessments and Extension of Time (EOT) evaluations where required.
Support commissioning planning and ensure commissioning activities are fully integrated within the overall programme.
Maintain accurate planning records and programme revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of planning processes, reporting standards and project controls.
Essential
Skills & Experience
Proven experience working as a Planner within the construction industry.
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Previous experience working on Data Centre, Mission Critical, Pharmaceutical, Advanced Manufacturing or large-scale Industrial projects.
Knowledge of Microsoft Project (MS Project).
Experience developing, updating and managing complex construction programmes.
Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project delivery.
Experience monitoring progress against baseline schedules.
Ability to identify critical path activities, programme risks and mitigation strategies.
Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong reporting and data analysis capability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.
Excellent attention to detail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
