VHIR is seeking a Financial Control Technician to join
the Financial Control Unit. The Unit's responsibilities include,
among others, reviewing and monitoring budget variances, reporting
to Public Administrations, supporting the preparation of the annual
budget and Annual Accounts, preparing tax returns, and producing
financial statistics and reports. Main responsibilities and duties:
Coordinate and oversee the review and monitoring of budget
variances, providing financial support to the different
organisational units. Support the preparation of the annual budget
and ongoing budget monitoring. Collaborate with Public
Administrations on monthly and annual financial reporting. Prepare
and submit tax returns and related tax documentation. Analyse
financial and economic data to produce reports, statistics and
management information. Education and qualifications: Required:
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration or a
related field. Additional or specialised training in taxation,
accounting or financial control. Professional proficiency in
Catalan, Spanish and English. Desirable: Additional or specialised
training in public sector accounting and financial regulations.
Experience and knowledge: Required: At least 2–3 years' experience
in the public sector. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and
budget management. Experience in preparing and submitting tax
returns (e.g. Forms 303, 111, 349 and 216). Strong analytical
skills, a proactive approach, meticulous attention to detail, and
excellent communication skills. Desirable: Experience with ERP or
accounting software (preferably Fundanet). Knowledge of AI tools
applied to financial management. Experience working in public
research institutions. Ability to manage multiple deadlines and
prioritise tasks effectively. Labour conditions: Working hours :
Full-time (37.5 hours per week). Starting date :



September 2026.
Gross annual salary : Remuneration will be determined by
experience, skills and responsibilities and aligned with the
Collective Agreement pay scale. Contract type : Permanent contract.
