We're partnering with a cutting-edge neurotechnology company on a mission to redefine how brain disorders are treated. By combining advanced materials science with neural engineering, this team is building next-generation neuroelectronic interfaces designed to decode and modulate brain activity - with real impact on patients' lives.
They are now looking for a Mechanical Team Lead to take ownership of a growing engineering function and play a key role in bringing innovative medical devices from concept through to commercialisation.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll sit at the heart of product development - leading a mechanical engineering team while driving the design, development, and transfer to production of complex medical devices.
You'll work cross-functionally with R&D;, Quality, and external partners to ensure products are delivered on time, to the highest standards, and ready for scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing mechanical engineering team
- Drive end-to-end product development (concept → design → verification → production)
- Own mechanical design activities including CAD, modelling, and material selection
- Ensure designs meet reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee design control processes in line with ISO13485
- Define and execute test strategies for safety and performance validation
- Manage supplier relationships and external manufacturing partners
- Build and maintain a robust supplier ecosystem aligned with product roadmaps
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration across hardware and systems
- Mentor, coach, and grow engineering talent within the team
Your Background
- Degree (BS/MS) in Mechanical Engineering
- Proven experience developing medical devices end-to-end
- 4–5+ years leading or managing technical/engineering teams
- Strong xcskxlj hands-on expertise in mechanical design, CAD, and prototyping
- Experience working within regulated environments (ISO13485 or similar)
- Track record managing external suppliers and manufacturing partners
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, innovative environment
- Fluent in English & Spanish
