Compliance – Commodities - Madrid

A growing commodities brokerage based in Madrid is seeking an experienced Compliance Officer to take ownership of its regulatory framework across global energy markets. This is a standalone position offering full responsibility for designing, implementing, and maintaining compliance policies in a fast-paced trading environment.

The firm is active across oil, gas, electricity (power), and coal markets, working with a broad international client base. You will act as the primary point of contact for all compliance matters, including directly facing off to the regulator (CNMV) and managing the firm’s regulatory relationship in Spain.

Key responsibilities include:

Developing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures tailored to commodities brokerage
Monitoring trading activity to identify potential market abuse or regulatory breaches




Acting as the main liaison with the CNMV, handling regulatory queries, reporting, and inspections
Providing clear, practical advice to front office teams on compliance obligations
Managing KYC, AML, and onboarding processes
Delivering training to staff on compliance and regulatory developments

The adecuado candidate will have strong experience within commodities or energy trading environments, with a solid understanding of regulations impacting oil, gas, power, and coal markets. Prior experience interacting directly with regulators—particularly the CNMV—is highly desirable.

You should be comfortable operating autonomously, with the confidence to challenge stakeholders and represent the firm externally.
