As a Senior CFD Modeller at Arup in Spain, you lead complex smoke and ventilation analyses for performance-based fire engineering on international projects. You will drive CFD studies from proposal to reporting, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate with global CFD specialists. You’ll advance modelling methodologies and automation, contributing to innovative fire safety solutions for tunnels, stations, and large buildings. This role offers impactful work, cross‑functional collaboration, and opportunities to shape CFD capabilities within a renowned multidisciplinary firm.

• Lead CFD studies for smoke movement and smoke control design using FDS
• Support performance-based fire engineering designs via advanced simulations
• Conduct tunnel ventilation and smoke dispersion analyses for road, rail, and metro projects (3D CFD and 1D tools)
• Perform smoke management and evacuation assessments for stations and complex buildings
• Coordinate technical delivery with multidisciplinary teams and CFD specialists across Arup offices




• Mentor junior engineers in project execution and technical development
• Contribute to development of new CFD methodologies, best-practice guidance, and automated workflows

Responsabilidades
• At least 5 years of CFD experience in fire engineering, smoke movement, tunnel ventilation, or smoke control systems
• Strong experience with FDS and PyroSim
• Experience with IDA Tunnel and/or SES for tunnel/station ventilation modelling
• Experience in ventilation design for transit xqbhyrx infrastructure in line with NFPA 130 and NFPA 502
• Proven track record leading complex CFD projects with multidisciplinary teams
• Python programming for CFD automation
• Experience with 3D modelling and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Rhino or similar)
• Fluent in English and Spanish
