We are seeking motivated predoctoral candidates to apply for competitive regional, national and international funding opportunities to join our group in reproductive biology.

The project will be carried out in the Advanced Reproductive Technologies in Mammals research group at UAB, under the supervision of Dr. Ribas-Maynou and Dr. Delgado-Bermúdez. Our funded research project aims to decipher how sperm genome integrity influences fertility and early embryonic development, with a particular focus on how DNA breaks occurring in specific genomic regions affect reproductive efficiency.

The successful candidate will receive interdisciplinary training in a broad range of reproductive biology and cutting‑edge molecular and genomic techniques to uncover how specific DNA damage patterns affect reproductive efficiency in animal models. The candidate will work in a collaborative and international research environment with opportunities to participate in scientific conferences, international collaborations, and high-impact publications.

Perfil buscado

- Background in Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Genetics, Biology, DVM, or related discipline.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English (minimum B2 level).
- Strong motivation for scientific research, critical thinking, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Eligibility to enroll in a PhD program at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Students currently enrolled in an MSc programme in academic year are also welcome).
- Excellent academic record (≥8.5/10) will be especially valued.
- Previous experience in molecular biology, genomics, reproductive biology, embryo manipulation, bioinformatics, or animal research will be considered an asset, although it is not essential.
