We are partnered with a leading international engineering contractor specialising in the delivery of large-scale Data Centre and Mission Critical projects across Europe.

With a substantial pipeline of secured work across Southern Europe, the business is looking to appoint an experienced Senior M&E; Commercial Manager to support the delivery of a major hyperscale Data Centre programme in Spain for a leading international developer.

The Opportunity

This is a senior commercial leadership opportunity to take ownership of the M&E; commercial function on a major European Data Centre programme.

Working alongside senior operational and commercial leadership, you'll oversee the commercial performance of complex mechanical and electrical packages, managing everything from procurement and subcontractor appointments through to change management, forecasting and final account.

The position is available on either a rotation basis from the UK or Ireland or through full relocation to Spain, providing flexibility for candidates looking to build their experience across major European Data Centre programmes.

The Projects

You'll be working on a large-scale hyperscale Data Centre programme in Spain, delivering complex mechanical and electrical packages for a leading international developer.

The wider business has a significant pipeline of secured mission-critical projects across Europe, providing long-term opportunities beyond the initial project.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the commercial management of major M&E; packages across the project.
- Develop and implement the M&E; commercial strategy.
- Manage procurement, subcontractor appointments and commercial negotiations.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, cash flow and financial reporting.
- Manage contractual risk and ensure robust commercial governance.
- Lead variations, change control, claims and final account negotiations.




- Monitor subcontractor performance and manage downstream commercial relationships.
- Support upstream commercial engagement with the client and project stakeholders.
- Work closely with Project Directors and operational teams to maximise project performance.
- Lead and mentor Quantity Surveyors within the commercial team.
- Provide accurate commercial reporting and strategic advice to senior leadership.

Required Experience & Background

- Proven experience as a Senior M&E; Commercial Manager, Commercial Manager or Lead M&E; Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong background delivering major Data Centre, Mission Critical or technically complex M&E; projects.
- Experience commercially managing high-value mechanical and electrical packages.
- Strong understanding of procurement, contract administration, forecasting and change management.
- Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge.
- Proven experience leading and developing commercial teams.
- Strong client, subcontractor and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
- Previous European Data Centre experience is highly desirable.
- Experience working for a leading M&E; or international engineering contractor.
- Chartered status (MRICS or equivalent) is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent negotiation, leadership and communication skills.
