The opportunity
We are seeking an Electrician to join the Engineering team at the Australian Centre for Disease Preparedness (ACDP) in Geelong.
In this role,
you will support the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the electrical, instrumentation and critical facility systems that enable Australia's premier high-containment research facility to operate safely and effectively.
This hands-on role will see you deliver preventative and corrective maintenance, fault finding, installation and commissioning activities across a broad range of infrastructure, including high-voltage networks, backup power systems, utilities and containment-critical services. You will also contribute to facility upgrades, coordinate specialist contractors and maintain compliance with strict safety, engineering and biosecurity requirements.
As part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will help maintain the safe and reliable operation of PC2-PC4 laboratory environments, while participating in annual shutdown activities and an on-call roster supporting critical facility systems.
