This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of next-generation energy technologies through advanced thermal-hydraulic modeling and validation activities. The Senior Engineer will support critical verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification efforts for plant-scale analysis tools used in complex reactor systems. Working at the intersection of simulation, experimentation, and engineering design, this position plays a key role in improving model accuracy, reliability, and regulatory readiness. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to evaluate computational models, analyze experimental data, and strengthen safety and performance assessments. Accountabilities
- Support verification, validation, and uncertainty quantification activities for plant-scale thermal-hydraulic analysis tools.
- Perform system-level steady-state and transient thermal-hydraulic simulations to evaluate model behavior, accuracy, performance, and limitations.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data from separate-effects and integral test facilities to validate models and address technical gaps.
- Define validation requirements, identify modeling needs, and collaborate with test engineering teams to align experimental programs with simulation objectives.
- Develop and maintain documentation covering validation methodologies, model assumptions, simulation results, and uncertainty analyses for engineering reviews and regulatory submissions.
