Job Description:
An opportunity for a Landing Gear Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space in Getafe (Madrid).
The selected candidate will join the Landing Gear Design Office Team within the Military Air Systems Engineering organization.
Our multidisciplinary and multicultural team is responsible for the end-to-end engineering life cycle of landing gear systems across military platforms. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the A-400M Program, taking ownership of complex system architectures and structural designs. You will face key technical challenges in qualification, certification, and in-service support, ensuring our products meet the highest safety, operational, and industrial performance standards.
Responsibilities
The main tasks of the jobholder will be:
- Design and specify Landing Gear systems, subsystems, components, and structural architectures according to safety, quality, cost, and operational requirements.
- Perform load, stress, and risk analyses to qualify and certify Landing Gear modules throughout the system lifecycle.
- Drive system integration and V&V; (Verification & Validation) processes, ensuring full alignment with A-400M program configuration and safety standards.
- Manage continued airworthiness and deliver technical risk and safety assessments for critical operational challenges.
- Provide expert engineering support to MAP (Mise Au Point), Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and customer support functions.
- Lead technical interactions with suppliers and internal stakeholders, anticipating program needs and resolving critical challenges.
