The Position

As a Network Observability Engineer, you won’t just be building dashboards for network engineers; you will be architecting the systems that ensure our global teams can collaborate on life-saving medicine without interruption.
You will join the Network Management Services team, a global group of specialized engineers sitting at the heart of Roche’s infrastructure strategy. Your work directly influences how our integral network is designed, monitored, and optimized. At Roche,
observability isn't an afterthought; it is a strategic requirement that transforms raw data into the operational intelligence we need to stay ahead.
Main Responsibilities:
- Architecture & Scaling: Design and scale our observability stack (LogicMonitor, ThousandEyes, LiveNX) to provide real-time insights across a massive global footprint.
- Data Acquisition & Integration: Develop and maintain methods for extracting network data using various mechanisms, including SNMP, APIs, and network telemetry/streaming data.
- System Administration & Tooling: Utilize Linux and system administration knowledge to maintain monitoring infrastructure and integrate various open-source and commercial tools.
- Innovate & Prototype: Evaluate new monitoring solutions and open-source visualization tools (e.g., Grafana) to enhance our observability stack and stay ahead of industry trends.
