Performs laboratory tests required by Saybolt’s clients with supervision, to determine chemical or physical characteristics designated by the client.

General Responsibilities

Analyst I shall assist peers and Chief Analyst in the responsibility duties of the laboratory.

Analyst I is responsible for the efficient work within the laboratory, so that he can meet client needs accurately and in time.

Is responsible for and takes care of running the analysis at the lowest possible costs, while meeting the requirements for safety, quality of service and maintenance of assets. The Analyst must ensure full cooperation with the department and Managers on all assignments.

Must follow all company procedures as established by Saybolt and Core Laboratories, including but not limited to HSE Manual, Accounting Policies & Procedures, Saybolt Administration Instruction Letter, IT procedures, Ethics Policy, Saybolt Compliance Code, etc. Must keep himself updated and aware of all updates and act accordingly.

Lab Analysts are expected to exhibit professional appearance and attitude.



They are also expected to act in harmony with fellow employees.
Analyst I reports directly to Chief Analyst and/or the Laboratory Manager.

Qualifications

Education and/or experience:

A B.S. or B.A. degree in Chemistry or a related field and at least 1 to 2 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language skills:

Ability to read, analyze and interpret instructional and technical materials relating to procedures and safety; and applicable government regulations. Ability to write applicable reports and correspondence clearly.
