Job Description:
As a Thermo-Mechanical AIT ME (Manufacturing Engineer) you will be assigned to one of the Space System Business Lines (Earth Observation Science & Exploration, Telecom& Nav System, Constellation), and given assignment to specific set of projects, managed transversally by a Lead Project Manager. You will get integrated as ME active workforce inside a multi-Functional project team, where all members receive the challenge to successfully develop, industrialize, produce and deliver a finished and fully functional product to an end customer in the Space sector.
Spacecraft Production Spain comprises a set of well-established Space products in Airbus Space Systems portfolio, devoted to Earth Observation Science & Exploration (i.e Paz 2, Copernicus LSTM, Aeolus2, METOP SAS & ICI), Telecomm & Nav Systems Programs (i.e. Adler, SpainSat, Galileo) and potentially to Constellation Programs.
Purpose of Thermo-Mechanical AIT Process Engineer is to enable, for the project(s) he is assigned to the implementation of the Manufacturing System in the relevant AIT domains as follows:
- Thermo-mechanical assembly and integration of Spacecraft (S/C) instruments and payload
- Electrical hardware integration on instruments and payload
- Test Set up and de-set up
- Payload / System mechanical integration into Spacecraft
- Satellite final integration
- Handling, loading and shipping of payload / satellite
RESPONSIBILITIES
This translates into the following main accountabilities:
- Concur with Engineering domains during development phase so to ensure Design solution is feasible and fits the industrial system.
- Bringing industrial incomes and expertise to multifunctional teams assigned to projects.
- Gain proper awareness and understanding of the whole configured set of Engineering technical information applicable for elaborating the Manufacturing Dossier in the project, so due traceability is granted (As Design-As Planned)
- Analyzing and optimizing manufacturing technologies
