As an Assistant Breeder, you play a vital role in transforming breeding concepts into real-world results. Your work ensures that our crops meet the highest standards of quality, health, and market relevance. By combining hands-on crop care with precise data collection,



you help drive innovation and support Enza Zaden’s mission to feed the world sustainably. Next to that, you'll be responsible for:
- Provide timely and accurate support in all steps of the breeding process to make the right (selection) decisions.
- Secure implementation and oversee execution of routine processes, i.e. sowing, planting, pollinating harvesting, and disease testing.
- Ensure proper execution of crossing programs, functionally leading Crop Workers, and monitoring process whilst ensuring that the instructions of the (Assistant) Breeder are followed.
- Make independent observation, taking routine phenotypic data from Breeding material and first screenings.
- Assist with the selection of crops based on clear instructions and in alignment with the (Senior) Breeder.
- Recording and processing of observations on plants in designated electronic systems.
- Correct administration when sending/receiving plants, ensuring traceability.
