We are expanding our engineering capability in the Philippines and are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager with a strong electrical engineering background to lead, develop, and mentor our multidisciplinary engineering team in the Philippines.

The team spans Electrical, Civil, High Voltage (HV), and SCADA engineering. As our global Civil Engineering leadership is already based in Spain, this position is intentionally weighted toward electrical engineering. You will act as the technical authority and quality benchmark for electrical engineering, while providing overall leadership and coordination across the wider multidisciplinary team.

The role is based in Spain and does not require permanent relocation to the Philippines. It combines remote leadership from Spain with regular, concentrated on-site assignments in the Philippines. During these assignments, you will work directly with the local engineering team to strengthen technical capability, establish standards, mentor engineers, and drive engineering quality and consistency.

You will work in close coordination with, and under the leadership of, our Head of Engineering.

What you'll do Lead and develop the Philippines engineering team

Provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and prioritisation for a multidisciplinary team of Electrical, Civil, HV, and SCADA engineers.

Develop and strengthen the engineering capability in the Philippines, increasing the team's autonomy, technical depth, and ability to deliver complex international projects.

Build a strong on-site leadership presence during assignments in the Philippines and maintain effective remote leadership from Spain between visits.

Support resource planning, workload prioritisation, and technical development across the engineering team. Drive engineering and design delivery

Oversee multidisciplinary engineering deliverables for utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects across tendering and detailed design phases.

Coordinate technical interfaces between Electrical, Civil, HV, SCADA, BESS, and grid connection scopes.





Ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements, applicable standards, contractual obligations, and agreed schedules.

Identify technical risks, design gaps, and interface issues early and drive their resolution in coordination with relevant engineering disciplines and project stakeholders. Own electrical engineering quality

Act as the technical quality authority for electrical engineering deliverables produced by the Philippines team, ensuring work meets INTEC's technical standards and project requirements.

Set and uphold electrical engineering standards, design review criteria, and best practices across the team.

Review and challenge key electrical design decisions, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation where required. Standardise and accelerate

Drive the standardisation of engineering processes, templates, and deliverables to accelerate tendering and project execution while improving consistency and repeatability.

Establish reusable design references, calculation methods, checklists, engineering guidelines, and documentation templates that can scale with the business.

Promote lessons learned and continuous improvement across projects and engineering disciplines. Mentor and grow people

Mentor engineers across disciplines, with particular technical depth on the electrical side, supporting their technical and professional development.

Develop technical competencies within the Philippines engineering team and support engineers in taking greater ownership of increasingly complex deliverables.

Foster a collaborative, high-standard engineering culture bridging the Philippines and Spain. Coordinate across the organisation

Work in close alignment with the Head of Engineering and the integral Civil Engineering Lead in Spain.

Serve as a key communication and technical coordination bridge between the Philippines team and the wider global engineering organisation.

Collaborate with Project Management, Procurement, Construction, Commissioning, and other functions to ensure engineering requirements are effectively translated into project execution. What you bring

Essential

Degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, with substantial hands-on engineering experience.





Strong background in utility-scale Solar PV and BESS engineering, ideally across project development, tendering, and detailed design phases.

Proven experience leading or managing multidisciplinary engineering teams, including mentoring and developing engineers.

Strong knowledge of electrical engineering for renewable energy projects, including LV/MV/HV systems, grid connection, plant electrical design, protection concepts, and interfaces with SCADA, BESS, and civil scopes.

Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering deliverables within an EPC or similarly project-driven environment.

Demonstrated ability to establish processes, standards, design methodologies, and templates that improve engineering efficiency and quality.

Strong technical review and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify design risks and drive practical solutions.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly to the Philippines for concentrated 2–3 week on-site assignments while being based in Spain.

Fluent professional English and confidence working across international teams, cultures, and time zones.

Nice to have

Strong exposure to HV engineering and/or SCADA and control systems for utility-scale renewable energy plants.

Experience with grid integration and grid-code compliance for Solar PV and/or BESS projects.

Experience working across international and geographically distributed engineering teams.

Familiarity with European and/or Southeast Asian grid codes, engineering standards, and utility requirements.

Spanish language skills.

The Travel

Arrangement

This role is based in Spain and does not require permanent relocation to the Philippines. The position involves recurring, concentrated on-site leadership assignments in the Philippines, typically around 2–3 weeks per visit, followed by periods working from Spain.
