We are seeking a committed and qualified Teacher of English (Part-time) to deliver high‑quality, learner‑centred lessons that meet the needs of a diverse student population. In this role, you will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging English language instruction, tailoring materials and approaches to different learning styles and levels.
You will monitor student progress, provide clear and constructive feedback, and help learners build confidence and autonomy, while consistently maintaining the highest teaching quality standards.
As part of a collaborative teaching team, you will contribute to the ongoing success and reputation of the teaching centre by supporting wider activities, maintaining strong relationships with students and colleagues, and engaging in continuous professional development. You will also support customer-facing activities such as placement testing and course guidance, while upholding safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health and safety standards to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment for all learners.
About You (essential requirements for the role):
- University degree.
- Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) certification from Trinity College of London.
- Proficiency in English equivalent to a Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) C2 level.
- 1-year post-certificate, i.e. CELTA or Trinity cert. TESOL experience. N.B We would consider applicants with less than 1 year post-CELTA experience, depending on interest in further training in YL teaching and overall potential
Desirable:
- Current recognised extension qualifications are:
NILE Teaching English in Pre-Primary Education TYLEC – Trinity Young Learners Extension Certificate
- Recognised diploma in English as a Foreign Language e.g. DELTA / Trinity Diploma
- A PGCE / B.Ed in Primary or a relevant secondary subject is highly desirable.

- Role : Teacher of English (49238)- Part-time
- Location: Barcelona, Spain
- Contract type: Indefinite contract
- Salary details: 8,390.76 euros to 13,983.84 euros annual gross, depending on the total number of teaching hours and qualifications.
- Working location: The working location is the Barcelona Teaching Centre; however, Teachers may be expected to work in more than one location, e.g., the British Council centre and a partner institution in Barcelona. Increasingly, our young learner teaching takes place in schools, so travel is often required. Corporate classes usually take place online or off our premises.
- Teaching hours: Approximately 12 teaching hours a week. Mainly Young Learners, with some Adult classes possible.
- Most Young Learners teaching takes place on weekday evenings (from 17.30-19h), some lunchtimes from 13 to 15h and early afternoons (from 15-17h), evenings from 19.00 -20.30 (Secondary and adults) and on Saturdays (Primary or Adults only). There are some adult classes in the mornings.
