From Robert Walters, we are currently recruiting a Financial Credit Risk Accountant to join the Spanish finance team of a well-established international insurance company.

This is a temporary maternity leave cover , offering the opportunity to work in a highly international environment and gain exposure to complex financial accounting and insurance operations within a leading organisation.

What you'll be doing

- Manage a variety of financial accounting activities within the insurance business.
- Prepare month-end journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support statutory reporting and tax compliance (VAT, Corporate Tax, withholding taxes, etc.).
- Manage treasury operations, including domestic and international payments.
- Coordinate accounting processes related to coinsurance, reinsurance and credit control.
- Liaise with auditors, regulators and external stakeholders.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance function.
- Support regulatory reporting and compliance activities.

What we're looking for




- University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in a finance or accounting role within the insurance or financial services sector.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, reconciliations and Spanish tax requirements.
- Previous exposure to coinsurance, reinsurance or treasury activities will be highly valued.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems.
- Fluent Spanish and professional English.
