Residency Program

Details A “new graduate” is defined as a nurse who has been licensed for 12 months or less. Graduates will work closely with a Clinical Coach.



A Clinical Coach is a skilled and experienced nurse who uses a specific organized approach to learning, providing direct instruction, coaching, and evaluating the performance of the new nurses.

Core curriculum is focused on leadership, patient quality outcomes, safety, patient satisfaction, and the advancement of nursing knowledge and experience. The residency will incorporate core nursing curriculum, competency development and unit orientations with education focused on clinical skills, critical thinking development, communication skills, and managing patient responsibilities and priorities. Contract - The residency is a 2-year commitment.

It may not be Monday-Friday. For the first 3 months residents will be on dayshift. After the first 3 months, 95% of residents are moved to nightshift. Preguntas frecuentes (FAQ) A “new graduate” is defined as a nurse who has been licensed for 12 months or less.

As a nurse within the Baptist Health organization, all RNs are expected to have their BSN degree. Upon accepting an offer with Baptist Health, all ASN or ADN candidates will be given 5 years to complete their BSN. Shifts will vary, but we require flexibility to work the night shift where most residents are placed. however, you must have graduated from an accredited BSN program and have your active FL RN license at least 2 weeks prior to the start date.

Health has 3 residency cohorts per year: spring, summer and fall.
