Experteer Overview
As a Senior SQL Server DBA at Talan, you ensure the stability, performance, scalability, and security of enterprise database platforms. You will act as a technical reference for database operations and collaborate with infrastructure, architecture, and engineering teams. You’ll lead data lifecycle management, backup/recovery, and security, while contributing to data architectures and governance. This role combines ongoing improvements with project work to evolve a critical SQL Server estate and support a transformation mindset.

• Administer, monitor, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server environments across the enterprise estate
• Define and promote database standards, governance, and best practices
• Contribute to data architectures, data integration, schema development, and performance considerations
• Install, configure, patch, and manage SQL Server and related products
• Own and improve backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures
• Implement and maintain database security controls in line with regulatory requirements
• Drive performance tuning, query optimization, archiving, and data lifecycle management
• Act as SME on SQL scalability and advanced data storage topics for enhancement initiatives
• Define non-functional requirements for new services during design phase




• Participate in technical design discussions and represent operational considerations
• Support low-level solution design for new products and technology implementations
• Provide troubleshooting and technical support to development and wider IT teams
• Improve legacy database environments through analysis and modernization
• Share knowledge with the broader team via documentation and technical overviews

Responsabilidades
• Strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise-scale environments
• Experience with monitoring, backup/recovery, patching, security, and performance tuning
• Experience with high-availability, resilience, and scalability across database platforms
• Solid understanding of database architecture, schema design, and data integration principles
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Experience in complex, business-critical infrastructures with strong operational requirements
• Strong communication skills and collaboration with architecture, infrastructure, and engineering teams
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
