About the Role
As Europe's leading independent telecom infrastructure operator, we operate across multiple countries and rely on consistent, industrialized engineering practices to support our continued growth. At Cellnex, infrastructure excellence is at the heart of our business.
We're looking for an expert in Infrastructure Engineering to drive the industrialization, standardization, and continuous improvement of infrastructure engineering practices across all our countries. You'll act as a technical authority and coordination point, defining the standards, digital models, and engineering criteria that every country team across Cellnex's footprint builds on.
You will lead the development and evolution of our IRIS (Digital Twin) program — building high-fidelity digital representations of physical telecom assets (towers, rooftops, antenna systems) that enable advanced structural analysis, lifecycle performance management, and real-time operational data integration. You'll be a transversal technical reference, combining deep expertise in passive infrastructure and structural engineering with strong project management, BIM/digital twin implementation, and cross-country coordination — working hand in hand with local engineering, operations, and procurement teams to make Cellnex's infrastructure smarter, safer, and more scalable across the entire footprint.
What You’ll Do
- Assess, harmonize and industrialize passive engineering criteria and structural assessment processes across regions.
- Define and maintain Cellnex's Passive Engineering Guidelines and scalable typologies adopted across all markets.
- Collaborate with country counterparts to align on uniform engineering criteria and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain accurate, real-world 3D standard models of telecom structures — towers, rooftops, and support frames.
- Analyse and homologate new materials and solutions for passive telecom infrastructure.
- Harmonize sensor-based solutions (strain gauges, tilt meters, vibration sensors)
and integrate them into digital twin models for real-time structural monitoring.
- Run simulations to understand how structures perform under wind, seismic activity, and equipment loading.
- Ensure compliance with local/national building codes, telecom regulations, and internal H&S; and ESG policies.
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years in structural engineering for infrastructure projects — telecom towers, linear infrastructure, or industrial assets ideally included.
- Solid experience working across different national design bases, codes, and regulations.
- Advanced hands-on skills in Autodesk Revit; comfortable with BIM software, simulation tools, and sensor-based monitoring systems.
- Exposure to digital twins, GIS integration, or predictive maintenance platforms is a strong plus.
- Experience bridging country engineering teams, BIM teams, and digital platform developers.
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's in Structures is highly valued.
- Bonus points: Navisworks, InfraWorks, Bentley OpenBuildings, Dynamo/Grasshopper, FEM simulation tools, or AI-assisted engineering workflows.
Languages
- English: Advanced (Must - have)
- Spanish: Intermediate (Valuable)
- French/Italian: Intermediate (Valuable)
Tools & Systems
- MS Office: Advanced (Must - have)
- Autodesk Revit: Advanced (Must - have)
- Navisworks, InfrasWorks, Bentley Open Builings or similar: Intermediate (Valuable)
- Artificial Intelligence: Intermediate (Valuable)
Other Competences and Relevant Skills
- Knowledge of structural standards and telecom-specific codes across European regions.
- BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD),
simulation tools, and sensor-based monitoring systems.
- Valuable: Dynamo, Grasshopper, or other parametric design tools.
- Valuable background in structural verification and simulation (wind, seismic, load combinations) using commercial FEM tools.
- Ability to define, justify, and document structural design bases, assumptions, deviations, and country-specific exceptions.
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication.
- Strategic thinking and decision-making.
- Strong abstraction and analytical skills to manage multi-country engineering inputs.
- Proven ability to build consensus among engineers with diverse technical and cultural backgrounds.
- Autonomous and proactive profile, comfortable operating in hybrid technical–coordination roles within a PMO or central team.
What we offer
- Hybrid work model (3 days onsite / 2 remote).
- Modern office located in Barcelona city (headquarters), in Passeig de la Zona Franca, 105.
- International and cross-functional teamwork environment.
- Growth opportunities in a fast-evolving tech company.
- A purpose-driven role with societal and business impact.
