Experteer Overview
In this role you will shape and drive Avnet's global environmental product compliance strategy. You will act as the subject matter expert on environmental compliance across a global organization, influencing decisions, supplier engagement and customer relationships. You will design and implement global policies, work with cross-functional teams, and represent Avnet in industry events to strengthen regulatory readiness and sustainability efforts. This is a hands-on, strategic role with potential to lead a specialist team in the future.

• Develop and maintain environmental product compliance policies, processes and governance for general regulatory compliance
• Analyze obligations, risks and solutions with cost-benefit assessments to guide business strategy
• Serve as the primary SME for environmental product compliance across Avnet
• Provide guidance to internal teams, suppliers and customers on compliance requirements and best practices
• Create and deliver training and knowledge resources to raise awareness
• Produce clear compliance communications on Avnet's programmes and capabilities
• Monitor global regulatory developments to keep policies current
• Manage third-party compliance providers, review outputs and ensure audit readiness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align compliance with business objectives and supplier expectations
• Represent Avnet at industry forums and external events to support compliance initiatives
• Contribute to ongoing development and growth of the environmental product compliance function
• Potentially lead a specialist team to scale the function
Responsabilidades
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science or a related discipline
• At least 5 years' experience in environmental product compliance, product stewardship, regulatory compliance or related field
• Strong knowledge of global environmental product regulations (e.g., EPR, product safety, chemical substance compliance)
• Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate into practical processes
• Capability to assess compliance risks and conduct cost-benefit analyses for decisions
• Excellent communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
• Experience working across multiple regions, cultures and functions in a global organization
• Proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP ERP, content management platforms and AI-based tools
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver results with minimal supervision
