Role Summary
We’re seeking a Linux Platform Engineer to design customized, high-performance Linux distributions of our software. You’ll own the end-to-end process of OS-level customization, from kernel builds and footprint reduction to application integration and low-level performance tuning. This role requires someone who thrives at the intersection of operating systems, networking, and hardware — with the ability to shape a platform built for demanding AI and data workloads.
What You’ll Be Doing
Build and maintain custom Linux distributions, with full kernel configuration and compilation.
Remove unnecessary components to create minimal, production-grade OS images.
Integrate proprietary applications into the OS lifecycle (e.g., direct boot into apps).
Tune boot time, memory footprint, and CPU scheduling for low-latency performance.
Optimize TCP, UDP, and RDMA stacks for high-throughput workloads.
Work directly with PCIe/DMA hardware and integrate custom drivers.
Implement reproducible builds and system hardening practices.
Automate builds, deployments, and test pipelines with Yocto, Buildroot, Bash, and Python.
What We Need to See
7+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering, kernel-level work preferred.
Proven track record in custom kernel compilation and OS builds.
Strong knowledge of systemd, init, and application lifecycle control.
Experience with system profiling tools (perf, ftrace, strace).
Familiarity with PCIe, DMA, and driver development.
Proficiency in Bash, Python, and Linux build systems.
Ways to Stand Out
Experience with reproducible build pipelines and secur
