The Australian Ballet is one of the world’s leading ballet companies and a globally recognised Australian national performing arts organisation. Each year the company presents upwards of 220 performances through its main stage seasons in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth; along with public programs, special events, an extensive regional tour, a Children’s Ballet and Education programs and regular overseas tours.

Role Highlights:

- Work alongside internationally renowned conductors, choreographers, dancers, artists and orchestras

What you’ll be doing:

- Observe ballet classes, stage, studio and orchestral rehearsals
- Participate in coaching sessions with company pianists
- Accompany ballet classes and rehearsals, as appropriate
- Perform as an orchestral pianist with our partner orchestras in Company productions, as appropriate
- Work with senior Artistic, Music and Production staff in studio rehearsals, orchestral rehearsals and performances

What experience you’ll need:

- A high level of musicianship and strong technical piano skills
- Ability to develop a broad knowledge of the classical ballet repertoire
- Ability to respond in a positive way to feedback and direction
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary artistic team
- Ability to contribute positively to an inclusive,



respectful workplace culture
- Time management and organisational skills
