The Associate Director, Medical Affairs is primarily responsible for driving the medical strategy for surgical product development in Ophthalmology, focusing on strategy development, management, and implementation for Phase IIIB/IV studies. You will build relationships with general development teams, marketing, sales, and healthcare providers to meet diverse needs.In this role, a typical day will include:Support the execution of comprehensive Medical Affairs strategic plansSupport development of regional medical affairs strategy for the assigned therapeutic areaProvide medical and scientific support for product messaging and claims developmentSupport post market/phase IV studies strategy and preregistration study strategic inputSupport launch strategies, lifecycle management and expansion of indicationsSupport medical publications: Develop content for whitepapers, peer-reviewed manuscripts, posters,



scientific articles and video scriptsSupport customer medical inquiries (i.e. medical exchange of information with KOLs, and management of medical issues raised by customer HealthCare providers)Maintain peer to peer relationships with Medical Experts/ Key stakeholders and members of the scientific community, utilizing scientific and medical evidence based non-promotional materialsSupport planning and execution of medical advisory board meetingsProvide fairbalanced scientific and educational information to healthcare professionals on specific medical issuesSupport internal training, and as needed for academic or healthcare professionalsMedical promotional review support as neededWHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:

Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+14 yrs; M.S.+7 yrs; PhD+6 yrs)Advanced clinical degree (OD preferred; MD ophthalmologist preferred) in combination strong clinical research experience. Minimum: technical/scientific degree (i.e. MS/PhD) in the life sciences with solid knowledge in assigned ophthalmic therapeutic area.7 Years of Relevant ExperienceThe ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in EnglishEstimated travel requirements - 10%The location of the position is flexible within Europe.HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON:
