Renewable Energy, BESS & Industrial Infrastructure
About The TeamA boutique, senior-led engineering team delivering renewable energy, battery storage (BESS), green hydrogen and electrical infrastructure projects across international markets. The team stays lean and high-caliber — no heavy corporate layers — combining a versatile core in Spain with international technical support and trainee engineers. For anyone wanting real technical ownership rather than a narrow slice of a large organization, this is that kind of environment.
The RoleThis Civil & Infrastructure Engineer will lead the civil discipline across projects — covering design, review, CAPEX optimization, constructability, coordination of external teams, bid support and mentoring of junior engineers. This is a hands‑on, practical civil engineering role, not a purely administrative or coordination‑only position: strong construction judgment and cost awareness are core to the job.
Key Responsibilities
Design and review earthworks, cut-and-fill balance, grading, slopes, platforms, internal/access roads, drainage, culverts, trenches and fencing
Design foundations, BESS platforms, transformer platforms and substation interfaces
Assess early-stage opportunities: review orthophotos, topography, slopes, access and flood risk; flag geotechnical and environmental feasibility risks; estimate CAPEX exposure to support go/no-go calls
Optimize CAPEX and constructability — minimizing earthworks, avoiding oversized foundations, resolving discipline clashes, and improving quantity take-offs, BOQs and construction sequencing
Coordinate with electrical, grid, BESS, hydrogen, environmental, permitting, layout and cost teams, plus surveying, geotechnical, hydrology and subcontractor activity
Produce and review civil design reports, technical notes, BOQs,
quantity take-offs, drawings and specifications
Delegate CAD drawings, terrain models and repetitive production work to international teams, reviewing quality before issue
Mentor junior engineers and interns in drawing interpretation, quantity take-offs, surveying and basic GIS/CAD use
What's Required
6–10 years of civil engineering experience applied to renewable energy, energy infrastructure or industrial projects
Experience in earthworks, drainage, foundations, surveying and geotechnical engineering
Experience reviewing drawings, deliverables, quantity take-offs and BOQs
Proficiency in Civil 3D or an equivalent tool
Technical English
Experience in utility-scale PV, BESS, substations, EPC, construction or green hydrogen is a plus
AutoCAD/Civil 3D, General Mapper/QGIS/ArcGIS, advanced technical Excel; PVCase, HEC-RAS/HEC-HMS and structural design software are a plus.
What Sets a Great Fit Apart
Genuine infrastructure delivery experience, not a residential-building-only background
Strong CAPEX and constructability instincts, catching cost and clash issues before they become rework
Comfort producing and reviewing technical deliverables personally, not just coordinating others
Ability to mentor junior engineers and interns with a structured approach
Effective coordination across electrical, layout and multidisciplinary teams
On Offer
Direct ownership of the civil discipline with real design and CAPEX influence
A lean, senior team where technical judgment directly shapes project outcomes
Exposure to international renewable energy, BESS and green hydrogen projects
A collaborative environment focused on technical excellence and mentorship
Interested candidates should apply with a CV outlining relevant civil engineering experience in renewable energy, infrastructure or industrial projects.
