Direct Purchasing Buyer

Your responsibilities:

As a Direct Purchasing Buyer, you will join the purchasing team of one of our key industrial clients in Belgium, contributing to the launch of a new product project. You will be responsible for the operational procurement of direct components, working closely with internal stakeholders across engineering, quality and supply chain to ensure component availability, cost competitiveness and supplier performance.

• Manage the end-to-end sourcing and procurement of direct components (mechanical, electrical or system-level parts) within your assigned commodity scope

• Lead RFQ processes, conduct bid analyses and negotiate commercial terms with suppliers

• Select and qualify suppliers in line with project timelines and technical requirements





• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure delivery performance, quality compliance and cost targets

• Track and follow up on purchase orders, delivery schedules and supplier commitments

• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality and logistics teams to support new product introduction activities

• Contribute to cost reduction and value improvement initiatives within your commodity

• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and drive corrective actions when needed

Your profile:

• 2 to 6 years of experience in direct purchasing or procurement of components in an industrial environment

• Background in automotive, railway, aerospace or equivalent manufacturing industry

• Experience in supplier negotiation, RFQ management and component sourcing

• Comfortable working in a project environment with tight deadlines and cross-functional teams

• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail

• Fluent in English (mandatory)

• Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) is a plus

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Practical details:

• Location: Zaventem

• Hybrid working model: 2 to 3 days remote per week

• Mission duration: minimum 2 years

• Start: as soon as possible
