Job Description Summary

The Principal Engineer – Electrical Wind Systems is a key Controlled Title Holder role in the Electrical Subsystem organization in GE Vernova's Onshore Wind business. This role will have functional responsibility for Electrical Systems for new turbine design and fleet support.
Essential Responsibilities

Initiates, owns or reviews development/test plans – at the supplier, lab, prototype, and customer sites.
Drives the incorporation of insights gained in each validation step in products, design practices, tools and methods.
Maintains a key role in developing and defining the state of the art in own technical specialty in order to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for product introduction, safety, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution in meeting current and future business needs including adherence to quality standards, schedules and estimated costs.
Provides technical consultation to cross‑functional teams to do risk assessments, investigations, determine root causes, resolve issues or improve safety in manufacturing,



product centers, at supplier, or in the field.
Provides guidance, recommendation, and requirements to the electrical subsystem engineering team to ensure high quality design changes to the existing and new Electrical System and its integration.
Owns the development of a Wind Turbine Electrical System Design Practice (DP).
Supports Engineering‑or‑better Hierarchy of Controls for Electrical System by engaging early in the design process.
Reviews Electrical System requirements inputs as part of electrical system design process.
Functions as a primary reviewer for electrical system architecture as part of the Engineering design process.
Supports in determining root cause and corrective actions for electrical system level incidents.
Serves as the Renewable Energy lead to drive connection between Onshore Wind and industry best practices.
