Mission
The System Design Engineer will be responsible for leading the systems engineering activities associated with the development of advanced electro-optical products, ensuring technical consistency from requirements definition through validation and product launch. The role bridges research and industrial implementation, driving system architecture, design reviews, requirements management, and multidisciplinary coordination to deliver robust, high-performance products aligned with customer and business objectives.
Responsibilities
System Engineering and Technical Leadership
Own the complete systems engineering lifecycle, following the V-model from requirements definition through validation and product launch.
Develop and maintain the overall system architecture while ensuring consistency across mechanical, optical, electronic, software, and manufacturing disciplines.
Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and engineering decision-making to ensure robust system performance.
Requirements, Design and Validation
Define, maintain, and manage system requirements, traceability,
verification activities, and performance validation.
Evaluate technical solutions, identify design gaps, risks, or inconsistencies, and propose corrective actions.
Ensure system design decisions remain aligned with product requirements, operational performance, and industrial feasibility.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Act as the technical reference between research, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and other key stakeholders.
Support multidisciplinary teams by providing strong technical guidance throughout product development.
Facilitate communication between technical disciplines to ensure efficient project execution and successful industrialization.
Reporting and Governance
Maintain engineering documentation related to system requirements, verification, and design evolution.
Support configuration management and change control activities throughout the development lifecycle.
